I hope that everyone has a wonderful break from school!  I will begin posting again on this blog in August.

From our STUDENT OF THE WEEK

"Tomorrow is FUN DAY!  Everybody is so happy.  In writing, we are trying to make our writing 'Razzle Dazzle.'  We also found a website called Sumdog. We have to go against each other, and we get daily prizes.  One interesting thing that we have learned about this year is the Titanic.   Here are some facts about the Titanic:

*The Titanic hit an iceberg.

*Only 1 person from Boiler Room 6 lived.

*The Titanic broke in half before it sank because it was so heavy.

*Most of the people who died were men.

*The Titanic sank at 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1912.

From our last two STUDENTS OF THE WEEK

We have had a lot of trouble getting our student of the week pictures up.  The computer that had them froze, but we were able to get them back today.  So, it is time to get caught up!

Here is the message from our student of the week from two weeks ago. 

"We ran one mile in P.E.  Our plants are really growing, but sometimes we forget to water them. We have been getting some free play."

"We are having a contest called sumdog.  We are trying to raise enough points to win the prize.  Sometimes, we even get daily prizes."



Desoto Caverns

 Our class went to Desoto Caverns on Friday.  Here are some pictures from our day.

 Next, we toured the cave.

 Then, we went panning for gold.

 Next, we did a spin and tilt ride.

 After lunch, everyone shopped in the gift shop before loading the bus.

It was a great day!

Our Bucket

 Our school will have a beautiful, HUGE addition next year.  We will have some new classrooms, a new lunchroom, library, offices, and much more!  Amason is the company responsible for the new building, and they are sponsoring a fundraiser for our school to raise money to buy books to fill up our new library.  They gave each classroom teacher a bucket with a hard hat attached to it.  Students are filling the buckets with change, and Amason is going to match the money that we raise.  The class that raises the most money will get a party.  Also, Amason challenged each class to decorate its bucket.  They will judge the buckets, and the class with the best bucket will also get a party.  Our class decided to go with a candy theme...I was inspired while watching Willy Wonka last week:)  Our slogan is, "How sweet it is to have a new school!"   Here is our decorated bucket, and it is already pretty full of money.
